Topsites for game communities
The order is decided by the players.
topsites.dev is used by game community websites to run their own topsites. Position on a list is earned by the people who actually play, judged the same way for every listing, by a ranking called Plumbline.
Private access
topsites.dev is private access. There is nothing here to sign up for, and nothing on this page is asking you for anything.
The idea
Most lists like this stopped meaning anything years ago.
Anyone who has gone looking for a server knows the pattern. The same names at the top month after month, and an order that tracks who is most determined to sit there rather than who is worth playing on.
Earned by players
Position moves because real people arrive, go through to a server, and come back to say it was worth it.
The same standard
Every listing on a list is judged the same way as every other listing on it. The ranking does not know who owns what.
Current
A list reads as it is now rather than as it was. What drew people last year does not hold a place this year.
Plumbline
A plumbline finds true vertical, and gravity does the work.
That is the claim the ranking makes. The order of a list is not a matter of opinion, and it is not a matter of who wanted it most. Plumbline is proprietary, and how it reaches an order is not published.
Lists
One list, one community
A topsite here is built for a single community rather than for games in general, with the categories that community already uses and the details its players actually ask about.
